Kevin is an award-winning author with several books of his credit. His book, "The Architecture of Maritz & Young" (co-authored by L. John Schott) won a silver medal for the Best Midwest Non-Fiction Book by the Independent Publishers Awards. See website:

The book also won the 2014 Osmund Overby Award from the Missouri Preservation Society. The Overby Award was established in 2003 to recognize published works that contribute to the documentation and interpretation of Missouri’s architectural history. It honors Dr. Osmund Overby, Art History Professor Emeritus and former head of the historic preservation program at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Dr. Overby is a nationally recognized leader in historic preservation.
Others will also receive recognition for their preservation work. The Missouri Preservation's honor awards recognize individuals, groups and organizations that have contributed to the preservation of Missouri's rich and diverse collection of historic resources in the past year.
The award ceremony and luncheon was conducted in the State Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City, Missouri on March 6, 2014.

Monthly column entitled "This Month in St. Louis History", from 1997 to 2007 for the West End Word, a St. Louis weekly newspaper, circulation 22,500.

Travel Articles: Whitefish Point Light Station (published November 2007) and Hiking the Swiss Alps (published August 2007), both published in the St. Louis Suburban Journals. Also, a story about Shiloh Battlefield in Tennessee was published in 1999 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and in 1996 in Big World magazine.

Three motion picture screenplays; two won honorable mentions in the 1995 and 1996 Writers' Digest Writing Competition, placing 49th and 19th, respectively. One also won an honorable mention in the 2004FilmMakers.com / Radmin Company screenwriting competition.
